When embankment is constructed on very soft soil, special construction methods are adopted. One of the techniques a piled embankment. Piled (stone columns) embankments provide an economic and effective solution to problem constructing over soils. This method can reduce settlements, time cost. Stone columns improvement for soils under light structures such as rail or road embankments. The present work investigates behavior models resting soil reinforced with stone columns. Model tests were performed different spacing distances between two lengths diameter ratios columns, in addition heights. A total number 21 model carried out undrianed shear strength ≈ 10 kPa. consist at ratio equal 2.5, 3 4. Three heights; 200 mm, 250 mm 300 conducted. earth pressure cells used measure directly vertical stress column top middle center line edge all while third cell was placed base directly. clay treated ordinary 2.5 revealed maximum bearing equals (1.21, 1.44 1.7) heights, respectively settlement (0.78, 0.67 0.56) respectively.
